Business Coaching

What is Business Coaching?

Business coaching is the process of helping a company or business team achieve greater clarity, focus, and results. Regardless of the size of your company, whether you are a solo entrepreneur or a Fortune 500 company, business coaching is aimed at improving the performance of you and your people and increasing the company’s bottom line.

A coach is a mentor or confidant. When you are the owner or leader of a business, who do you confide in? The old adage is true. “It’s lonely at the top.” A coach can and should be a sounding board, a listener, someone to play back to you what he/she thought you said so you can hear it for yourself.

What are the Benefits of Business Coaching?

Sometimes you just get stuck. The answers aren’t obvious. You haven’t been trained for “this,” whatever “this” is. How do you grow? How do you handle a sensitive employee issue? How can you cut back on working so doggone many hours? As a coach with over 35 years of experience, I have seen other options and am aware of other possibilities that you just haven’t been exposed to. Why not take advantage of that experience?

Have you ever sat with your team and created a “perfect action plan” to, let’s say, improve efficiency, only to discover that a couple of weeks later nothing has changed?

Unfortunately, that is not unusual. All too often, a perfect action plan is created but there is little to no follow-through.

Then you realize that your operational efficiency is worse than ever and now you are so busy working in your business instead of on your business that you have no time to correctly address the issue. So you get buried under a myriad of problems that “only you” can handle and that beautiful dream you had when you started your business fades away slowly but surely.

I’ve worked with people in over 2,000 small and mid-sized companies and have seen this scenario many, many times.

As your business coach, my job is to work with you through a coaching process that begins with awareness – uncovering the problems that are holding you back or creating awareness of the possibilities in your business, educating you in business building best practices and holding you accountable for achieving the results and goals that you have set for yourself, your business and your team.
